Ronnie Haynes
|
| |
|
Ronnie has sung with the group since
January, 2002. He grew up in Murray County, with Randy and his wife
Carla. As a matter of fact, Ronnie and Carla grew up as neighbors.
He also used to work with Rita at one of the textile mills in Chatsworth.
So, there was some personal history already established, which made it
feel like a great fit when he joined the group. He lives in Dalton
with his wife Linda and son Derek. They are members of Crosspointe
Worship Center (formerly Dalton Church
of God), where Ronnie is deeply involved with the music ministry. He
works as a Sales Manager for Clayton Homes in Dalton.
Ronnie sings high lead or baritone.
Music has always been a huge part of his life. Like the rest of the
group, he feels that this is the gift he can best use in God's service.
One thing he brings to the group is that he can actually play an
instrument! His specialty is bass guitar, but he can also play a
regular guitar. He also has that special voice and sense of rhythm
that lend themselves to songs with "soul". But what really stands
out about Ronnie is the fact that he is so openly and unashamedly in love
with Jesus Christ! This characteristic by itself makes him a joy to
be around and especially a joy to stand next to and sing with!
What's great is that this joy and excitement are contagious. Don't
miss an opportunity to hear him sing!

Rita Hawkins |

Rita, a lifelong resident
of Murray County, attends Holly Creek Baptist Church in Chatsworth.
She works at Mattel Industries/Templeton Carpets in Dalton. She and
her husband Jack are the parents of two sons, Jason Hawkins and Keith
Parrott, and one daughter, Audra Ramsey. They are also the proud
grandparents of five beautiful grandchildren. Rita normally sings
the high tenor for the group, but with her tremendous range and
versatility she can handle almost any part, even helping out on a high
bass line occasionally! Being the daughter of a Baptist
minister and singing with her three sisters as she grew up
stands her in good stead. When learning a new song, she
tells the rest of the group to pick the parts they want, and
she'll take what's left over. Rita is the social animal of
the group. She always has a smile on her face and never
meets a stranger. It's a rare occurrence for them to go
anywhere that she doesn't at least know someone. If you
want to get her attention, just call her "Mom".

Randy, also a member of
Holly Creek Baptist Church, is the remaining original member of the group.
He and his wife Carla have three children: Sarah, Rebekah and Jonathan.
Sarah and Rebekah purchased a condo together and live in Dalton now.
Jonathan is pursuing a degree in music at Truett-McConnell College in
Cleveland, Georgia. Randy and Carla live in the Spring Place
community just west of Chatsworth, in the house that Carla grew up in.
Randy is a production planner for Mohawk Industries, Inc. in Dalton.
Randy sang bass in the quartet for 17 years, but with the recent departure
of Richard Hall from the group, he has switched to baritone. Randy's
outlook on singing in the group is very simple: "The Lord has blessed me
with a love for His music and a small ability to sing it. But the
greatest of all is my love for Him. To be able to combine my love
for music with my love for Him is to me the greatest of all blessings!".

Larry is
the newest member of the quartet. He officially joined the
group in January, 2006. Larry is another native of Murray
County. He and his wife Niki and their son Conner live in
Chatsworth, and are also members of Holly Creek Baptist. Larry is employed by North Georgia Electric
Membership Company as a network technician. Niki works at
Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton as an LPN, and is also working
toward her degree as an RN.
Larry, just as
the other members of the group, has a long history of loving
music. He traveled and sang nationwide for years with the
country group "The Fort Mountain Boys". Although he has
been off the road for several years, the love of music never
left him. And now the Lord has led him to a place of
service where he can use his gift of music for the glory of the
One who gave it to him. With his tremendous bass voice and
a true heart for Christ, he is a welcome addition to the group!
And, he can also play the harmonica about as well as anyone I've
ever known. We're going to take advantage of that and have
him and Ronnie (on the guitar) work up some songs to do
together. But, if the truth be told, the thing we liked
the best about him is that he's younger than anyone else in the
group! Guess who gets to do most of the heavy lifting now!
Larry is a great talent and a joy to be
around. If you have the chance, come and meet him and see what we
mean.
